An Intimate Affair

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Good morning, lovelies! How was your weekend? Did you do a lot of celebrating? I enjoyed mine to the fullest and now am looking forward to a 3 day work week.

With all of the talk of marriage and anniversaries lately I've been doing a lot of thinking back to my commitment ceremony that took place 15 years ago in J's parents backyard. It was a beautiful gathering of our nearest and dearest family and friends. A stark contrast to our large NYC wedding that we had 2 years ago. Both were so amazing and I wouldn't change a thing about either one of them but there was something so intimate and real about our first affair. I'll cherish it forever.

Enjoy the day, darlings!
xoxo

  6. A beautiful post, Dawn! I've always preferred intimate ceremonies. I know a big wedding can be so glamorous and beautiful, but there's something so romantic and magical about a more intimate one, it's more about the two of you. :)

  10. I love Keira, she's beautiful. That table setting is to die for. Tim & I got married in a similar setting. My Mom's yard, (which is gorgeous), surrounded by only those who were closest to us. Perfect. xo

  15. Sometimes the simplest moments are the most memorable. I find that true with entertaining at home too .. simple is wonderful. Friends laughing with good food and drinks in the backyard, candles on a chandelier over the table, Bosa Nova music wafting thru the air making you feel as if you're the girl in Impanema .. sweet summer memories. xo

Your words of the intimate commitment ceremony gave me chills, so incredibly sweet and what an amazing memory to always cherish. With all the negativity in the world, it is so refreshing to meet someone else who shares such positive feelings of their marriage and love. Cheers to happiness & love! :)

  33. I like your thoughts of commitment and your wedding. I just went to a very dear friend's wedding over the weekend and had a lovely time with another set of friends (whom married each other) and there beautiful daughter. And I've been thinking a lot about my guy and I (6 years together) and I think it's officially time we step it up a notch. Thanks for sharing!
