Gray Matters

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Good morning, lovelies! How is the week treating you all?

Lately I've been loving all things gray. Gray is a funny color. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Some seasons I feel like it's blah. It washes me out and it really does nothing for me. And then some seasons I embrace it with all of my heart. This season happens to be the latter of the two.

Not sure what it is this year. Maybe it's that chunky knits look so good in gray. Maybe it's that gray suede is oh so tempting. Maybe it's my Michael Kors wool scarf that I pulled out this weekend or my gray over the knee socks that are hanging on my closet door just begging to be worn. Or maybe it's that the new Essie shade Power Clutch comes up dark gray on me rather than a smoky green like it does in the bottle.

Whatever the reason may be, I'm just going with it. For this season, at least.... :)

Oh and I'll let you in on a little secret. I never know how to spell gray. No matter how many times I look up the spelling and find out that the American way to spell it is with an "a", my go to spelling is always with an "e". The British way, I'm told. Maybe I'm a Brit at heart. Who knows... {You'll see I did my best to spell it the American way but to tell you the truth I had to go back and correct it every time I spelled the word:)}

How about you all? Are you feeling it this season?

Have a fabulous day, sweets!

xoxo

  14. You remember maybe that only last week I wrote about elegant grey in one of my blog posts. LOVE it! I wear it all year round and never feel dull in it. I've started to wear my autumn little grey dress, grey cardigan and I'm waiting to put on my wool shawl and over the knee socks with my camel boots. And maybe I'll finally go for a grey winter coat this year, still looking for the perfect one. xoxo

    PS: I always spell grey with 'e', as that's the way I learned in my English classes, I'm curious if they still teach the classic English or there is mixture of classic and American English now. :)

    I am sure that with some of your love for 'blush' combined with the chic grey, you will look fabulous this winter season.

  17. a true Brit at heart indeed if you spell it with an 'e' ;-) Why did those American have to rebel and change the grammar too?!! haha It would be so much easier to have just one version of English.

    There isn't much grey in my wardrobe. I guess I have to work on that.

  18. This is so funny, I too have this kind of love/hate relationships with this color! I rarely wear gray but seeing these photos made me really inspired to do so! A big knitted gray sweater in winter can be one of the most simplest and most beautiful things!

  21. Love love that you're loving gray! I love it so much I painted my house gray {although I have a bit of love hate with it, lol} and designed an entire line in gray. And do you know I once got into a huge argument with my dad playing scrabble over how to spell gray. He contended that I was wrong until I hauled out the dictionary! Now that he's gone, it makes me smile.
    Hope your week is a good one so far Dawn!
