Load on the Layers

Good morning, loves! Hope your week is off to a wonderful start. Mine is going well. But boy is it cold out here!

We've been spoiled by a fairly mild late fall but now reality has hit and the temperatures have taken a real nose dive. Which normally would be all fine and good. I actually like it to be on the cooler side during the holiday season.

Only problem is that I desperately need a new winter coat. So far I've been getting by with capes, fur vests and collars, gloves and boots but that's not doing the trick anymore. This girl needs a winter coat and I need it like yesterday!

I desperately looked for a coat last night with no success. So I'm back at it tonight with another round of coat shopping. Wish me luck! Based on last night I think I'm going to need it!

    Hi Dawn, it was horrible this morning, walking in a storm that was not only very wet, but very cold too! Hope you find your coat, I still haven't found mine...am walking with something old and cold. Good luck on the search! xoxo

    Ooooh that first picture got me going..I am very into charcoal and oatmeal (my fancy names for gray and beige..lol) Such a rich and elegant combination especially when you are talking high quality pieces, like beautiful cashmeres or soft alpacas or wools. Beautiful!

    Just bought a super warm winter coat the other day, been wearing it a couple of times already. There hasn't been snowing that much yet here, and it might be a snowless Christmas for us this year. It's been quite warm here, too, which is messing up things for wildlife at the moment.

    Layers. Can't live without layers. I've been looking for great layering pieces for a while, but I must admit I haven't found any I like very much. Everything is pretty heavy and thick and I'm lusting for several lighter layers at the moment. Going some shopping soon, too. Hope we both find what we're looking for! xxx

    Oh, I just got to wear my fun leopard coat for two weeks while on our honeymoon. Now it is back to the Texas heat! xo

    Have you looked online? Sometimes it's tough to find one if it's not the very beginning of the season. Good luck.. pinkies crossed. I'm sure it's freezing walking around the city this morning. xo

    Nose dive is right little lady - it's a chillfactor around town! Too funny b/c I just documented my latest outfit and it was ALL layers {not sure if I could have added another on}... ;) I hope you have better luck with coat shopping! You sound like me, picky! xoxo

    Hi darling!! Good luck finding a winter coat, I'm sure you will soon! I just love the feeling of wearing a brand new warm coat in the cold, especially when it is so needed. Last year I had the same dilemma - first year in Rome I had jackets and layers, and realized I needed a coat. When I finally bought a coat, winter felt like a dream! I too love it cold during the holidays -- which is exactly why San Diego is not the place to be!! :) Love those boots in the last photo by the way. I think I'll pin it!

    Good luck with your coat hunt ! I suffer from cold weather, so much ! I prefer using a goose down jacket when it's very cold, tho...not as glam as a coat but it works fine during storms !!! Kisses
