Sweets & Treats

nullnullnullnull

Good morning, sweets! Still in the middle of a hectic week but between all the madness I find my mind wandering to the sweeter things in life. Like what treats am I going to serve my guests for Christmas?

I definitely will be making peppermint bark again this year. I made it once before and it was a big hit. But I have to admit that last year I cheated and relied on Williams Sonoma instead. And I always have candy available in abundance. Also, Christmas cookies are always a staple in our home.

So what else can I do to make the mood even more festive? Christmas cocktails, right? This Candy Cane Martini sounds delicious, doesn't it? And I have quite a few other options that I'm considering. I'll definitely have to have a couple of trials which should make for a few fun nights! :)

Do you have any favorite holiday treats that you'd like to share?

Have a wonderful day, loves!

xoxo

  24. I love to treat my guests with home-made goodies. I rarely eat other sweets, so it's only fair to them, right? And I like to offer them small gifts, like home-made jam (my mom's specialty-the best in the whole world), nicely wrapped up. Personalised gifts have their own charm. Have a beautiful day, Dawn! xo

  30. Oh, all this peppermint is making me happy!!! Several ice cream makers make a seasonal peppermint and that's a fun easy dessert, garnished, of course, with a candy cane.

Cranberry margaritas that i've made in years past - serving with guacamole and chips for a casual Christmas get together is fun.

And, then my all time favorite of Champagne with a little cassis and frozen raspberries!

    Happy holiday party planning!

  34. your comment, as always, made my day. I had a horrible blogging day--I found out that ppl don't read my posts--they skip to the comments and copy something from there. I was crushed, but your comment cheered me up. And I wish I was on your Xmas list; free samples or not!

  44. Sounds quite delicious to me :)

A little cheating is okay sometimes! (plus, isn't William Sanoma amazing?) I adore the homemade fudge that my neighbour sends over each year for Christmas, as well as the chocolate bark that we always make. However, this year, I would like to also try short bread... wish me luck!
