Good morning, sweets! Hope you're having a lovely start this morning.
Wanna know one place that makes me happier than pretty much anything? Can you guess what it is from the photos above? Well yes, you're right, I'm talking about a lovely little lingerie boutique. The smaller and more boudoir in styling the better. Talk about making a girl swoon!
Now don't get me wrong. Victoria's Secret is great and all and I buy quite a bit of my underthings there but I just love the ooh la la likes of Journelle, La Petite Coquette, Kiki de Montparnasse & Laina Jane here in NYC. I swear I'm like a kid in a candy store whenever I visit. I can spend hours upon hours entranced by all of the prettiness. The colors, the textures, ribbons, lace, bows, corsets. I'll take them all!
Now don't get me wrong. It's been quite some time since I've been to one. Between all of the holiday shopping and the new year, lighter me {ie - try to acquire less "stuff"} mantra, I've hardly stepped foot in a store in a month. But I feel the urge and I think I'm going to have to give in and indulge. Goes along with the romantic mood I've been in for a while now. And for some reason I always like to buy lingerie this time of year. Maybe because I'm over buying winter clothes and not quite ready to purchase spring. And a little somethin' somethin' can satisfy this girl's shopping urges quite nicely. Time to get my shop on!

ReplyDeleteYes, we are the same!! I adore nothing more than going into a small, vintage like shop full of glorious lingerie!! Makes me happy :))) I'd work in one really!! Such beauticul pictures..exactly what I like mine to look like :)) I have been stuck in maternity/nursing stuff for ages now, but come May, I will be back in my normal attire and I shall treat myself to some new things, this gives me great ideas :)) I'm like more excited about that, than getting to wear all my regular clothes again, haha!! Oh, I went to a "real" lingerie store a couple of weeks ago to get a garment to go under my wedding dress. I splurged on a couple of other pretties as well. The best part was the fit and how it changed my whole shape. xo

I love lingerie! Oh, that's something that's hard about this shopping freeze- no new lingerie. I agree- there's a certain ambiance to a lingerie boutique that nothing else can compare to.

ReplyDeleteI love wearing pretty undergarments, though I rarely go get cute stuff because I don't have anyone to enjoy them. Though, they make me feel pretty so that is a good enough reason - and it is so fun to go to the little boutiques. You just feel pretty when you know you have beautiful lingerie on!

ReplyDeleteI used to live near the Petite Coquette and spent many a pretty penny there! I really need to step up my lingerie wardrobe, back in the day I even worked at high end lingerie stores in grad school when I lived in NYC because I loved it so much!! These are such beautiful photos Dawn!
