Good morning, loves! Hope you're having a bright and cheery week!
Speaking of bright, it's getting to be that time of year where all I want is bright pops of vibrant color to help tempt spring to come my way. Yeah I know it's still technically February and we have a few more weeks before it's officially here but this happens to me ever year. I anxiously await it's arrival as colors of the rainbow float through my dreams.
The stores are all decked out in color. And I have to admit that even though I'm looking forward to ditching my dark winter clothes, I'm a bit timid to go full on head to toe neon this time of year. Well honestly I'd probably never go full on head to toe neon but you get what I mean.
I'd rather ease on into the trend with my manis. I already ditched my old winter standby Wicked last week and started sporting one of my other go to faves, Essie Lollipop. And I have to tell you, it instantly brightened up things.
And I have a few more shades on the radar that I'll be picking up in the near future. Here are a few I'm lusting after.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, happy looking post! I long for spring, too, but I am just as happy with the weather today: -2 degrees Celsius, sun is shining, snow is melting on the roof and dripping with small sounds onto the ground and bouncing back against the window. Love.

ReplyDeleteNeon clothing is one thing I love seeing other people wear but I don't think it suits me. Neon manicure on the other hand I love it! So bright and cheery...
ReplyDeleteIn the full on summer I am willing to be a little more fun with my color. But right now I limit it to a little pink here and there. And of course the mani.

ReplyDeleteNail polish is a great way to incorporate bright colour into your look (I make great use of it, as I'm not bold enough to go for a clothing item in a vivid colour too often). ReplyDeleteYes, i know what you mean - color is gorgeous, but when it comes to outfits, it must be used with care! I'll get a few colorful things like little cardi and maybe a handbag and a flower-pin and combine it with jeans or neutral shades. Can't wait ;)

Loving all those bright colors! It suddenly decided to be winter here, so I am in need of some bright nails so there is something encouraging spring to show it's lovely face - though I think it is supposed to go back to being warmer next week. I really want to try some of the neon nails since I do not know that I will be doing head to toe neon - at least not at the office!

I'm always looking to add color, as I gravitate toward neutrals. I'm thinking a pair of colorful jeans. Maybe in the red/coral family? And I like colorful nailpolish on my toes :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors Dawn! I woke up to a snow/rain mix this morning and had to wear boots (again) to work. I'm craving sunshine and warm temps and keep buying flowers and candles to make the indoors a happy place - ha! I'm with you, can't wear all the neon .. but love a pop here and there. Nails are a great place to start! I have a mani/pedi scheduled for Friday - no one will see my toes for a while but it really brightens my spirits.

ReplyDeleteI am the biggest fan of neon colors! I was so happy last year when all the shops were full of my favorite colors!I am now into red and burgundy nail polish! But during the summer, I love all these bright nuances posted by you, Dawn!
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to try May from Chanel but one of my best friends is always telling to stop buying the more expensive nail polish and go for a brand like Essie. I need some red colour so maybe I should try one from them. What I'm trying to say here is I obviously need to go shopping soon ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the burst of colors in the stores... it means Spring is on it's way! The neon colors remind me of the 80's. I am not sure at mid forties they would be flattering. I'm thinking small doses... a bright scarf, manicure or cute pair of flats is probably about as brave as I'll take this trend. Although, I have been experimenting with brighter lip shades and loving them. xo
