Brighter Days

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Good Monday morning, lovelies! How are you all doing today? Did you have a good weekend? Mine was great despite some technological issues. Between blogger problems, an email virus and a dead computer I was beginning to think I was in some sort of a time warp. Luckily things seem to be back to normal now, finger's crossed!

Otherwise it was wonderful. We attended the Manhattan Cocktail Classic Gala at the New York Public Library Friday night and had a fabulous time. Everyone was dressed up to the nines, wandering the halls of the library with amazing cocktails in hand. My kind of night :)

Saturday was a gloomy day but we had a nice day despite the weather. My Aunt came into the city to see a play so we spent the day with her. And Sunday the weather wasn't cooperating again so we spent the day indoors catching up on TV and reading. At least everything seems to be getting back to normal so I have no complaints.

And lucky me, I get to start the week on a high note because I get to meet the amazing Christine of Bijou and Boheme & Alex of Things That Sparkle tonight while they're in town for the Design TV party. Can't wait to meet them in person! Things are looking up indeed :)

Hope you all have a lovely day! xoxo

Happy Thursday, sweets! Please excuse my photo heavy post today. I'm in complete peony heaven this week. I returned from vacation to find pale pink peonies at the market that I pass on the way to work. I always take the same route every day so that I can see the gorgeous selection of blooms. Even in the dead of winter when the selection isn't that great it instantly brightens my mood. It's such a wonderful way to start the day!

And of course I had to purchase them as soon as I saw them. They're my absolute favorite flower and I've been waiting nearly a year to see them again.

The beautiful arrangement intoxicated me the entire day and I was so eager to get to work the next morning to see them. Well much to my delight, on my stroll to the office I passed by the market and found an even more gorgeous selection of colors, deeper pinks and burgundy! I was in complete heaven and just had to snatch up a few more bunches to add to the gorgeous arrangement awaiting at the office. I can't stop staring at it. It's breathtaking!

I have some in my apartment now too and I can't wait for my next stroll tomorrow morning. What colors will they have next? Orange, red, white? This may get a little out of hand.... :)

Oh and today is the day that I am over guest posting at Julip MADE about my 5 essentials for the perfect weekend. Stop by and stay a while to check out Julie's amazing blog.

Have a wonderful day! xoxo

Good morning, lovelies! Hope your week is going splendidly. I'm still playing catch up after vacation, no surprise. It always takes a while for me to get back in the grove. I'm not worried though. It'll all come in time. I still have that vacation ease about me.

And in the meantime I'm thoroughly enjoying the gorgeous weather and beauty of spring that has popped up around here since I've been gone. Looking out my window I see a gorgeous canopy of green taking over the parks. And I also came back to peonies at my flower market. I'm over the moon since I've been waiting all year. I purchased a bunch for home and a bunch for work. I want to see those beauties wherever I happen to be. The trees are all green and flowers are in bloom and I'm as happy as can be :)

Hope you all have a wonderful day! Oh and I'm also am on over at Hello, Spledor today sharing one of my favorite NYC spots on the Splendid List. Stop by and check it out. If you're ever in NYC be sure to stop by this place as well as the other fabulous places included on the list!

Back But Still Dreamin

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Hi lovelies! I'm back from an amazing vacation but of course my mind and heart are still longing for California. We visited San Diego, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Santa Barbara and had the time of our lives. Every time we visit CA we seriously consider moving there. There's something about that place that is so enchanting. Who knows, maybe one day.... Good thing is that we seemed to bring the gorgeous CA weather back east with us. It's warm and gorgeous here and I'm already starting to dream of summer fun. It's not that long off now, right?

So how was your week? I hope you all had an amazing one and a wonderful Mother's Day for all you fabulous mothers. Thank you all for stopping by and visiting while I was away. And thank you Christel, Linda, Christine and Julie for doing such an amazing job filling in for me. How gorgeous were their posts??? I can see by all of your comments that they did not disappoint. I just knew that would be the case :)

I can't wait to catch up on everything that I missed while I was away. I'll be by soon to visit and also hope to be posting some photos and some more details from the trip in the near future. Missed you all!

xoxo

{Guest Post} Bijou and Boheme

Hi everyone!!

It's Christine here from Bijou and Boheme and I'm beyond excited to be visiting today...truly honoured!
For my post, I decided to take inspiration from the beauty of the royal wedding

Like millions of people around the world, I was utterly enchanted by the gorgeous ceremony...the stunning royal couple, the lovely tree lined aisle, the perfect gown....the whole thing was quite literally the stuff fairytales are made of.
I was also in awe of the hats, or more specifically, the fascinators.

So with that, I give you a little artistic and editorial look at the fascinating fascinator...I so hope you enjoy!

I seriously need to figure out an event or occasion where I might possibly pull one of these off - they're just so delightful.
