Longing for Lightness

Happy Wednesday, lovelies! Hope you're having a great week!

Something about these stark white interiors that make me swoon. My current dwellings as well as my office are both decorated with darker woods and quite a bit of "stuff". I'm so in need of a major change and longing for a lighter look and feel.

Problem is J isn't on the exact same page as me so I have my work cut out for me. Maybe promising to love J forever will do the trick. I guess it's worth a shot :) Wish me luck!

Lovely Lingerie

Good morning, sweets! Hope you're having a lovely start this morning.

Wanna know one place that makes me happier than pretty much anything? Can you guess what it is from the photos above? Well yes, you're right, I'm talking about a lovely little lingerie boutique. The smaller and more boudoir in styling the better. Talk about making a girl swoon!

Now don't get me wrong. Victoria's Secret is great and all and I buy quite a bit of my underthings there but I just love the ooh la la likes of Journelle, La Petite Coquette, Kiki de Montparnasse & Laina Jane here in NYC. I swear I'm like a kid in a candy store whenever I visit. I can spend hours upon hours entranced by all of the prettiness. The colors, the textures, ribbons, lace, bows, corsets. I'll take them all!

It's been quite some time since I've been to one. Between all of the holiday shopping and the new year, lighter me {ie - try to acquire less "stuff"} mantra, I've hardly stepped foot in a store in a month. But I feel the urge and I think I'm going to have to give in and indulge. Goes along with the romantic mood I've been in for a while now. And for some reason I always like to buy lingerie this time of year. Maybe because I'm over buying winter clothes and not quite ready to purchase spring. And a little somethin' somethin' can satisfy this girl's shopping urges quite nicely. Time to get my shop on!

Monday Morning

Happy Monday, lovelies! And welcome to the start of a brand new week! Hope you all enjoyed the weekend.

Mine was wonderful but much different than originally planned. The forecast was calling for snow on Saturday so we cancelled our plans to go to Long Island and ended up staying in the city instead. But I did manage to get my sushi in and some treats as well so all in all it was a great weekend :)

Now it's time to start the week. I'm going to take it a little slow this morning and ease myself into it so I can keep the weekend glow around for a bit longer.

Wonderful Weekend

Happy Friday, loves! And welcome to the weekend! It's been a busy week so I'm thrilled that it's finally here.

I'm planning on treating myself a bit this weekend. Heading on out to Long Island for the weekend. Sushi with the siblings Saturday, a hotel stay, and some shopping on Sunday. And I might even let myself have some dessert at some point. I've been so super healthy and disciplined which is working really well but it's what the soul is calling for these days :)

The Softer Side of Winter

Happy Thursday, loves! Hope you're all having a lovely start to the day.

I wanted to share with you one of my latest color combo obsessions, ivory and a kiss of aqua. Everything is so dark this time of year that I found myself gravitating towards winter white and lighter pastels which are all gorgeous and good but how do you pull that off this time of year? Winter white yes, but lavender? It's a bit hard. But I think I've finally found the perfect way to achieve the lighter mood I'm going for with this gorgeous combo. What do you guys think?

A Bow-tiful Life

Bonjour, loves! How are you all today?

I'm in quite the romantic mood as of late. Now that we're in the thick of winter my mind starts to wander off to pretty things and what's next to look forward to. Where does that leave me? Bows, bows and more bows! They're so pretty and everything looks better with a bow on top, right?

Maybe it's because I'm starting to think of Valentine's Day. Pretty packages all tied together in bows. Coquettish lingerie. Chloé fragrance, anyone? I'm getting excited just thinking about it. Hope J pulls out all of the stops this year :)

Toasty Twosome

Good morning, lovelies! Hope you're having a great week so far.

It's been brutally cold here in NY the past few days. So cold that I don't even like to leave my bed, nevermind the apartment! But since I really have no choice in the matter, I've been relying on my toasty staples to keep me warm while braving the elements, layers upon layers of knitwear and a hot cup of coffee in hand.

Welcoming the Weekend & A Guest Post!

Happy Friday, loves! Thank goodness the weekend is finally here, right?

Nothing is on the agenda this weekend and I couldn't be happier. J & I both have been a bit under the weather and it's going to be really cold so I'm looking forward to a few restful days spent indoors this week.

Lavender Love & A Guest Post!

Hi loves! Hope you all woke up in a light and cheery mood today.

This time of year the same thing always happens to me. After months of wearing dark shades I'm suddenly craving the lighter side of things. Light and pretty and feminine and delicate. Like lavender. There's something so calming about the color but also hopeful and happy. And that's what we all need a bit of this time of year, isn't it?
