Summer Pace

Good morning, loves! Hope you're all having a wonderful start to the week!

My start has been a little less than stellar. Having a beach house is amazing and I have absolutely no complaints and I know how extremely fortunate I am. It just means that I have to readjust my schedule so I can balance my city life with my island life. 

Being that this was the first weekend back at the house, I wasn't on my A game in terms of having my city life under control.  My inbox is flooded {I have limited service on the island so I'm rather disconnected when I'm there}, there's no food in the house, and there's laundry and cleaning that desperately needs to take place sooner rather than later.  It'll all work out in the end and I'll soon have a schedule in place to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future.  Bottom line is that life can't be all fun and no work. :)

Rise & Shine!

Good morning, sweets!  And happy Monday!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

I'm getting back to reality after a fabulous weekend at the beach house.  The weather was just amazing!  A total beach weekend and I have a tan to prove it! And I'm so happy that I have a summer full of fun to look forward to on Fire Island. 

But like I said, it's back to reality and the work week.  Think I'm going to pick up some fresh flowers on the way to work to make the week brighter.  They certainly did the trick last week.

Back to the Beach House!

Happy Friday, lovelies!  And welcome to the weekend!

I know I've been talking about this for what seems like forever now, but the time has finally come for us to return to the beach house. Can't wait to get back to the island and take it all in.  I'm so ready to kick the summer off.  And the weather is supposed to be beautiful so it looks like it might be the right time to do it.

Before I head out I'd like to wish all of you moms out there who are celebrating this weekend a happy Mother's Day!

Sweet Escape

Hello, loves!  And happy Thursday to you all! The weekend is almost here and I'm pretty darn excited about it.  We'll be heading on over to Fire Island for a few days to open the beach house for the summer season. I'm sure it'll be a lot of work to get the house in shape but it will still be nice to get back to the island and see what we have to look forward to in the coming months.

In the meantime I'm dreaming about a little escape.  It seems like everyone I know {well, ok only 3 people but that seems like a bunch...} is headed out on vacation this week.  And if you've been around here before, you know that I love vacation pretty much more than anything.  There's nothing like the feeling of being away, is there?  Time doesn't matter.  Money doesn't matter.  Actually nothing really seems to matter other than being right there in the moment.  Sometimes I wish that I could bottle that feeling and keep it with me forever.

Call of Beauty

Good morning, loves!  And happy Wednesday to you!

Today I have a little favor to ask all of you.  Most of you probably know by now that my day job is  Beauty Product Developer.  Lucky, I know.  It's a pretty fabulous job. 

And every now and again {more like all the time} I bother people and ask them about their beauty secrets.  What are your must have beauty essentials.  And that can go above and beyond any products you use.  It could be any treatments, salon services, or any other beauty wonders that you may ingest like a green drink, salmon, nuts, berries, etc.  Anything that makes you feel and look your best. 

I love hearing why and it also oftens helps brainstorm new product ideas which is a good thing because we all love new innovation in beauty, right? :)

French Day

Hi loves!  How's the week treating you so far?  Mine's busy but fine.  Yesterday totally flew which is great but then it makes you wonder where the time goes.

So today I've decided to have a French day.  Forget my normal crazy NYC pace.  Today I want to take the time to slow down and savour things the way a French girl would.  Anyone care to join me? :)

Fresh Start

Good morning, loves! And welcome to a brand new week.

I needed a little freshness to get me going this morning and what is more fresh than aqua, right? Also, I've had it on my mind quite a bit since visions of the beach house have been prancing around my head. It's only 5 days away now so the countdown has officially begun!

Had a nice and relaxing weekend. Looking back on what I had planned, I managed to get the mani/pedi, lots of sleep and flowers in. Didn't quite get around to the bath part but I did squeeze in some more fun.

Saturday we had a relaxing day and later that night our friend, who I might add, is a student at The French Culinary Institute!!!, prepared a to die for meal for us.  Four courses and it was unbelievably delicious. Yeah, I'm pretty spoiled, it's true :) 

Then Sunday we celebrated Seis de Mayo {never got around to celebrating Cinco on Saturday...} with a Mexican brunch.  Delicious.  I basically ate my way through the weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every minute.

All in all a great weekend and I have a wonderful weekend ahead to look forward to. What did you all do this weekend?

Wonderful Weekend

Good morning, loves!  And happy Friday!  So excited the weekend's here.

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend. My last one at home for a while because next weekend we're opening up the beach house.  Going to take full advantage of being at home. 

On the agenda?  A mani/pedi, fresh flowers, a long hot bath and lots and lots of sleep.

Girlie Thursday

Good morning, loves! And happy Thursday to you all!

Today's one of those days that I'm really relishing being a girl. Ok to be honest, there really aren't many days that I don't appreciate that fact.  But today I'm really loving it.

Playing with makeup all day long {have I ever mentioned that I love my job?}, getting to wear gorgeous gems just because, and picking up beautiful blooms from the flower market on the way to work for my own viewing pleasure.  Who says you can't buy yourself flowers, right?

Sweet Shoppe

Happy Wednesday, lovelies!  How are you all doing this morning? I hope wonderfully well.

Not sure what it is, but I've had sweets on my mind a lot lately.  And I mean a lot! Which isn't really a good thing since summer is just around the corner and all but luckily I haven't had that much of a chance to actually get to putting any sweets in my mouth.  For now, it's all in my head. My bikini body will thank me later.

So in the spirit of trying to curb my sweet tooth, I'm only going to allow myself to have ONE sweet this week.  Yup only one.  Well maybe two or three if I have something like a cookie or macaron... :) 

So what should it be?  Ice cream, cookies, macarons, cake...I'm only going with one so I better make a choice soon before all of this "discipline" goes right on out the door and all of these calories go right on to my thighs.  Decisions, decisions....
