Wedding Weekend

Happy Friday, lovelies! And welcome to the weekend!

This weekend we will be heading on down to our good friends wedding. I'm so excited for both of them and I am also really excited to be going to a wedding. I feel like it's been a while for me, although in reality, I did go to one in June. Must be that everyone around me has been going to weddings all summer long. In any case, I'm looking forward to getting all dressed up and celebrating with them.

Red, Red Wine

This has got to be one of my all time favorite color combinations. Burgundy & red. So bold, so delicious and just so pretty.

I fell in love with this combo many many, years ago on a trip to Milan. I walked into a Prada store and there it was, hitting me smack dab in the face. I was smitten at first sight. I purchased a pair of red & burgundy kitten heel slingbacks that day about 10 years ago and I still wear them to this day.

I recreate this combo all the time in all different ways. My nails...I'll wear both colors at the same time. Apparel...burgundy skirt, red shirt. Wine clutch, red pumps. I've done it all. Especially this time of year. There's something about fall that makes me want to mix these bold, lush colors together.

Think I know what I'll be wearing today :) How bout you all? Are you loving this combo as much as I am?

Golden Girl

Good morning, sweets! How are you all doing this morning? I'm doing just great! In fact you could say that I'm golden. We just booked our November vacation and I'm beyond excited. More on that another day....

Speaking of golden, I'm totally obsessed with it lately. I've always had some gold pieces in my wardrobe but I'm craving more and more of it these days. Must be the time of year. Makes me feel all warm and toasty. I'm seriously needing those Dior shoes and Chanel bag in my life. How bout you? :)

Not So Fast

Happy Tuesday, lovelies! How are you all this morning? Hope your week is off to a wonderful start.

We're experiencing some serious summertime weather here in NYC. Yesterday it got up to 82 degrees! So much for fall, huh? Time to break out the bare legs and flip flops again and enjoy the great outdoors.

I'm not able to wrap up in cozy layers and wear my new boots that I've been dying to wear yet I am still in a fall state of mind. I think I'm going to go on ahead and satisfy my autumnal cravings by grabbing a cup of yummy cider today. Sounds like the perfect balance to me. A little apple a little spice. I'll just be sure to make it iced :)

Monday Morning

Good morning, lovelies! And welcome to a brand new week! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Mine was a nice balance of work and play. Friday night was very relaxing. I crashed out on the couch exactly as planned. Then Saturday we went to the beach house to close it up for the season. It was bittersweet. We were sad to say good bye but had fun remembering all of the amazing times we had this summer. Sunday was another relaxing day. Visited the green market and did some cooking for the week. A perfect way to welcome in the season.

Unwinding Time

Happy Friday, lovelies and happy first day of fall!

Wow, what a week this has been! I'm so excited to come have a nice quiet mellow evening tonight with J. We haven't had much QT together lately and we have a somewhat busy weekend on tap so I'm definitely going to cherish the quiet time tonight.

Orange Ya Glad

It's almost Fall?

Ok I know, I know....that has to be one of my corniest moments yet :) Sorry, I really couldn't help myself. It never fails, every time autumn rolls in I instantly get smitten with all things orange.

Pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumkin lattes, pumkin this, pumkin that. You get the point. And I suddenly like to end my evenings with a whiskey hot toddy. We actually even had some at the beach this past weekend. What can I say? If there's a chill in the air, I'm there!

I've already broken out my Hermès orange boots and bag {we're talking the color Hermès orange here, not actual Hermès. One day.... :)} And I couldn't help myself but I almost fell on the floor when I saw this orange Chloé Elsie bag the other day while shopping. Gorgeousness! And I'm really needing this orange coat. Kinda to die for, right? Call me pumpkin!

Blushing Boudoir

Happy mid-week, lovelies! I'm smack dab in the middle of a hectic week. Oh how I wish this were me today. Just getting to lay around my boudoir with nothing else to do but pretty myself up all day long. A girl can dream, right? Now it's off to work for me :)

Picking Season

Good morning, lovelies! Hope your week is of to a great start.

I'm loving the cool crisp days that we've been having. The chill in the air is making me excited to take part in some of my favorite fall activities. Every September I like to kick the season off by going apple picking. I'm hoping to squeeze that in this coming weekend.

Then a few weeks later in October I usually take a foliage drive upstate and during the drive we stop by a pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins. Unfortunately I just heard that a lot of the pumpkin patches were destroyed by Hurricane Irene last month and they're expecting an extreme pumpkin shortage this year. Not sure if I'll have any luck but I'm still hoping and staying positive. If not I'll just have to bake from a can. There could be worse things in life, right? :)

It's That Time!

Happy Monday, lovelies! How was your weekend? Mine was wonderful. We had a great time at the beach with our friends. It was cold but we piled on the layers and had a fabulous time.

So it seems as if it's finally autumn here in NYC and I couldn't be more excited about it. It's my absolute favorite season to dress for. Time to break out all of the sweaters, scarves and boots. And I'm definitely stopping for a hot beverage on the way to work. I need a little warmth for that walk!

Not Quite Fall Weekend

Happy Friday, lovelies! And welcome to the weekend! I know everyone in the northern hemisphere, including myself, is in a fall state of mind but technically it's still summer and I still have the beach house so we'll be heading out there for the weekend.

And wouldn't you know it, the temperature just dropped to fall temps yesterday so it's going to be a rather brisk weekend at the beach. I'm packing all of my sweaters and my cashmere hoodie because it sounds like I'm going to need it.

Should be fun though. I've always dreamed of being one of those people all layered up, frolicking on the beach. Reminds me of something you'd see in the movies. Yeah, I think I watched too much of Grease back in the day. You know that opening scene while Danny & Sandy are saying goodbye on the beach.

And I just watched the movie Something Borrowed a few weeks ago and there was a great scene like that as well. Now it's my chance to try to recreate it :)
