Welcome November

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Happy Tuesday, lovelies! And Happy November to you all!

This fall has gotten off to a rather unusual start for me. Typically I would be stuffing myself with baked goods, delicious mulled drinks and pumpkin lattes but silly ol' me decides to go gluten-free and vegan right in the beginning of the most scrumptious season. What was I thinking?!?!

Well the truth of the matter is that it hasn't been all that bad. I've lost weight and I've actually enjoyed everything I've eaten so far. It's fun learning how to cook different types of food and I haven't missed the treats all that much.

But honestly as the weather gets cooler {I mentioned yesterday how it SNOWED on Saturday...}, and the calendar flips the page to November, I can't help but think of the cooking and baking that comes along with this month. I mean Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. I can't even begin to think of a TG without the turkey. We'll see how long this lasts... :)

So where does this leave me? On a search for delicious tasting dairy and gluten-free alternatives to the delicious staples that are calling my name. Pumpkin pie and pumkin bread anyone? If anyone knows of any recipes out there, I'd be more than grateful to find out.

Lastly, I'd like to welcome in November by introducing you to my two new sponsors PRIVÉ and The Trend Boutique. Both wonderful companies that I hold near and dear to my shopaholic heart.

Check back later for more info on these fabulous companies.

Have a wonderful day, sweets!

Good luck finding the right recipes, I just know there must be tons online....good for you for keeping it up. I am in total awe!
For me, dieting or changing my eating around the holidays is an accident waiting to happen just not happenin...so I really admire your willpower. And I am sure everytime you slip something on that is a little looser....you realize how worth it, it really is!!

Congrats on your new sponsors... can't wait to hear more. Do you follow Carrie of This Free Bird or Annemarie of Brunch at Saks? You probably already follow both ladies but they both always share a lot of gluten free recipes and baking recipes too.

Sorry I haven't been by in a bit... we lost power due to the storm. I was freaking out w/ no internet! xo

Good for you, Dawn, for your new way of eating. I haven't eaten any meat except for chicken, turkey and fish, for 15 years and recently I've decided to give up chicken and turkey too (I might eat from time to time but only if it's bio). Isn't it lovely to try out all sorts of recipes? I haven't tried pumpkin bread, it must be delicious. Happy November!

Happy November! I can't believe it's actually here - it's been a really quick year it seems...

Congrats on the new sponsors and your new eating plan. What a brave girl you are. I read that Alicia Silverstone had a great book out on how she went vegan.
Do keep us posted on your progress. I'm sure many of us will be quite happy to do the same after the excesses of the Christmas season.

Happy November Dawn! So funny your post is about exactly what I am sifting through this morning--CLEAN START, which is an excellent vegan/gluten free recipe book with the most delicious carrot muffins in the world--I like them better than any I've ever had. She's a pro chef and her recipes are all delish, esp the pizza--yes cornmeal pizza which is sooo good! Anyway, you have to buy all the gluten-free products at a health food store, but once you have them, they work for all her recipes. I highly recommend it, I'm going back on the wagon as soon as I get my oven repaired.

p.s. beautiful images!

Last year I made the transition from omnivore to vegetarian and it was quite a different Thanksgiving, but it's worth it to find great new recipes. It is hard for me to imagine being vegan though, good luck!
