Sophisticated Siren

Camilla Akrans lit my heart on fire once again in her latest editorial for Numéro Magazine. I love how it's sexy, full on screen siren, yet there's most definitely a vulnerability there. Gorgeous shimmer, sequins, animal print and luxe fur. What more could a girl ask for?

And she makes models radiate like nobody's business. Edita's positively glowing! I can actually feel the warmth radiating from the screen. Just gorgeous, as usual. She's absolutely one of my all time favorite photographers.

Off To The Market We Go

Happy mid-week! Hope you're all having a fabulous week. As I've been mentioning, the weather has been a bit on the cool side this week. Fall is most definitely in the air which I have mixed feelings about. Sad to see summer go but excited for all of the things fall signifies.

One of my favorite things to do in the late summer into fall is head on off to the greenmarket at least once a week. I just love strolling through, browsing the various stands and seeing all of the fresh, delicious fruits & veggies, baked goods, cheese, fish & meats & lets not forget gorgeous flowers. I usually leave with quite a few totes full of goodies. It definitely sets the tone for a pleasurable, relaxing yet indulgent weekend.

I was so thrilled when I came across these absolutely gorgeous photos of the Union Square Farmers Market that Jamie took. That's my market! And she captured the vibrancy & energy perfectly. Head on over to her blog for more goodness.

Before I go, I have a little announcement regarding the Betsey Johnson Bow Pendant giveaway. Unfortunately the original pendant that I posted is no longer available. But have no fear! The new prize is even better, I think. It's the Betsey Johnson 'First Date' Bow Pendant Necklace.

Adorable, right? Hope you guys love it as much as I do. Again, sorry for the mix up. And for those of you who have yet to enter, be sure to leave a comment here for your chance to win. Remember this is only open to followers of The Alternative Wife. And you can tweet every day for extra entries.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! xoxo

Fun-Filled Week {& Some Greek Goodness}

Hi lovelies! So thrilled that it's finally Thursday. This week has been filled with a lot of festivities between my birthday on Tuesday and yesterday was my baby sister's 21st birthday. And she decided to come into the city to celebrate and to have her first legal drink with her big sister. Too cute for words. It was such a treat that she chose to celebrate her day with me. Mind you, I'm pretending that the reason she came into NYC was to see me rather than the excitement of celebrating in the city. Suuuure, I'll keep telling myself that :)

Anyway, I know that I promised to share my bday with you all. I won't go into all the details but overall it was a fabulous day. The exciting news is that I got a Nikon D5000! And I also got a private lesson with a photographer to learn how to actually use the camera, get familiar with it and such and he'll also take me around the city so I can practice taking shots. Pretty cool gift, right? I certainly am a lucky girl. And hopefully things will start looking all the prettier around here once I start to get familiar with using it.

Ok so now onto the photos that I posted here today. Those of you who have been following along might already know about my love of Greece and all things Greek {I am part Greek, after all so it's kinda in me :)} I came across these gorgeous photos from Marie Claire Turkey this month that were shot in the Greek island of Symi. Aren't these gorgeous? Makes me wish I headed there on my August vacation like I did a few years ago. It's such a magical country to visit.

Hope you all have a fabulous Thursday! And good news, we're almost at the weekend :)

Hey Child, Stay Wilder...

Happy Tuesday, darlings! OK so I know I had said that I would be back later on yesterday with a Bermuda recap but I'm having a few photo issues so it's taking me a little bit longer than I thought. It's coming eventually. Hopefully sooner than later... :)

Anyway, in the meantime I wanted to share with you some amazing photos The Cobrasnake took of Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor for Exit Magazine. I absolutely love this girl and have loved her since before she was actually born when she was just a little blob in her mums, Amanda de Cadenet's, belly way back in the 80s. See I was a huge Duran Duran fan back in the day {still am, no lie...} and have followed her throughout the years.

For those of you who don't know Atlanta, she's the daughter of Amanda de Cadenet, former wildchild and photographer extraordinaire and John Taylor, Duran Duran's bassist. Hence my original interest. And she continues to hold my interest to this day. This girl is way amazing, her looks are to die for, the perfect mix of her parents best features. And she just has the coolest sense of style ever. And she's only 18. Could you even imagine being so cool??? Most definitely the quintessential "It" girl.

La La Love You, Louis!

I've been dying to see these babies ever since the first curvaceous model strutted down the runway at the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter '10 collection back in March. And I have to say I am not disappointed in the slightest! Steven Meisel shot Christy Turlington, Karen Elson, and Natalia Vodianova in the sexy chic 1950s garb. The styling is amazing! Love the dressing room setting, love the fabrics, love hair & makeup and I love the models.

What do you all think? Do you love it as much as I do?

Vintage Beach Love

I am absolutely swooning over this gem that I discovered over at Ruffled the other day. I cannot get enough of it. This is hands down the most perfect e-session I have EVER laid my eyes on. By far my most favorite e-session of all time, well besides my own :)
