Currently Obsessed...{Gerard Darel 24 Hour Bag}

Good morning loves!  Hope you're all having a fabulous week!

The summer heat has been in full swing this week so summer style is all I'm about these days.  And want to know my latest obsession {besides Olivia Palermo's summer style in general}....

The Gerard Darel 24 Hour Woodstock Bag!  Isn't it fantabulous?

And I'm obviously not alone in feeling this way since Ms. OP has been steadily rocking hers the past few weeks...

And while I do love my J.Crew Farmer's Market Tote, I can't help but crave this baby. The beautifully woven design is lightweight and has an adjustable leather strap and tassel detailing.  It has a certain city sophistication that I'm flipping over. The ultimate summer tote perhaps?  I think yes.

The Syracuse & Panama versions are also available offering a wider range of color and patterns  Not too shabby in my opinion either.

Any strike your fancy?  Quite a few strike mine, most particularly Ms. OPs, so I guess it's good that there's a wait list... :)

Enjoy the day loves and happy almost Friday!

xoxo

Love Her Look - Olivia Palermo

I'm starting a new series today on The Alternative Wife. Love Her Look is where I will attempt to recreate the looks of some of the women I admire when it comes to style.

Of course I had to kick the series off with my favorite style icon, Olivia Palermo. Love her mixing of colors and she always pays close attention to proportion and fit. Love the slim fitting jeans with the tapered pea coat. And then there's that splash of print to tie it all together.

Are you loving Olivia's look like me?

Olivia Palermo For Mango

Love the new FW2010 Mango campaign featuring Oliva Palermo and her boyfriend Johannes Heubl. They're such a gorgeous couple and the clothes are to die for. What's not to love? Also really liking her in the deep lip for a little change. It's getting me really exciting for holiday party season.

Perfection in Paris

Good morning, sweets! How are you all doing on this lovely Thursday? Today I'm dreaming of guess what? Yes Paris again. How could I not after coming across these gorgeous photos of Olivia Palermo & Bianca Brandolini outside the Valentino show in Paris on Stockholm Street Style. How gorgeous do they look? I'd gladly raid either of their closets any day. Or I'd even be willing to go on a little shopping expedition with them. I'll be on the next flight over, ladies!

Have a wonderful day! And good news, tomorrow's Friday :)

******UPDATE******

I know a few of you were asking. Olivia's glasses are Tom Ford Anouk. She wears them all the time and I can see why. I adore them too :)

Look Of The Day: Olivia Palermo at LFW

Does the girl ever get it wrong? I love it all, the classic colors and silhouettes, tres chic accessories, the oh so perfect touches of gold jewelery, her fab new cut, and I've been completely lusting over her Charlotte Olympia shoes, and that entire outfit for that matter ever since she wore them earlier in the week.

Here's a closeup of those fabulous shoes!!!

Voyagez Avec Olivia

Morning, lovelies! So happy that Thursday is here. I'm just about ready to kick off the weekend. It's been one of those weeks with too much work and not enough sleep so I'm really looking forward to some rest and relaxation. But I know I have another day or two to go so I won't get too carried away yet...

I came across this little peak into Olivia Palermo's recent trip to Paris on Vogue and my mind instantly started drifting off into fantasy land. Could I be anymore envious of her? Not only does this girl have the most impeccable taste, but she also gets to traipse her oh so chic self around Europe with her Ken doll boyfriend Johannes Heubl and to-die for wardrobe. Could you even imagine? I think I need to start requesting a garment rack when checking into hotels to make myself feel a little more fabulous.

Here's what she brought along as her travel essentials (from Vogue):

What I packed:

  • Jet Set ballet pumps keep me quick on my toes - and they're ideal for cycling in, too.
  • Nancy Gonzalez passport cover, from http://www.gift-library.com/.
  • Kif If cardies - I can't leave the house without them! I always have at least one in my bag; they conveniently scrunch down to nothing.
  • Bensoni dress - it's one of my favorite summer dresses. The pattern is divine, and I love the effortlessly chic cut.
  • My Valentino couture clutches for instant dress-up.
  • My iPad.
  • Finally, I can't leave without Johannes! {Awh how cute! Actually sounds like something I would say about J so I won't mock :)}
Valentino clutches??? Nice life, right? Next time around I'm going to come back as Olivia :)

Hope you all have a fabulous day! Only one more day till Friday!

And remember you still have time to enter the Perricone MD Cold Plasma giveaway!
For those of you who already entered, remember that daily tweets get you extra entries.

Good luck!!!

How amazing does she look? The hair, the clutch, the shoes and the jewels and let me not forget that gorgeous, oh so feminine piece of pefection dress! I swear this girl can do no wrong in the style department. Love her!

Roberta Freymann by Olivia Palermo

Have you guys seen the Roberta Freymann by Olivia Palermo collection yet? I think the pieces are beautiful but I have to say I'm a bit underwhelmed. I'm all for statement pieces but I'm kind of over bib necklaces and was hoping for something else. What do you think?

My Crush

Sorry I've been crazy today and haven't had the chance to post. I still have a ton more to do but I wanted to share with you all a little bit that brightened my day. Olivia always gets it right. Love her!

*Disclaimer - I know I said I've been hectic today but I must admit that I get google alerts for Olivia Palermo so I came across this photo from the Sartorialist in my email :)

Loco For Coco!

I love the holiday break because it's the perfect time of year to catch up on all of those movies you've been dying to see but just haven't had the time. This weekend I was lucky enough to get to see Coco Avant Chanel, a beautiful picture starring Audrey Tautou as Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel.

The film cronicles Chanel's formative years from her humble beginnings as a headstrong orphan to reluctant seamstress, nightclub chanteuse and wannabe actress, and ends with a sneak peak into her rise to the heights of the fashion world.

I wouldn't exactly call this a fashion film. This is about her life before she started her fashion empire. It focuses mostly on her relationships with her sister, Adrienne, Etienne Balsan, a wealthy racehorse owner whom she befriends while she's a nightclub singer an with whom she eventually moves in with and with Arthur "Boy" Chapel, a handsome Englishman that helps open her eyes both personally & professionally.

Not to say this isn't something that fashion-lovers should see. Her innate fashion sense and the various transformations she goes through, even during her early years, will leave you chock full of inspiration.

Some of my favorite moments that show why she revolutionized the way women dressed...

  • She was a natural at creating her own menswear-inspired designs.
  • No more corsets!!! She told a reluctant dressmaker exactly how to make her a plain black, uncorsetted, ankle length dress for a dance with Chapel. She was so unique, standing out from the heavy corsetted, flouncy feather detailed women. All eyes were on her and everyone wanted to be like her. The birth of the LBD!

  • Being inspired by the blue & white stripped shirts worn by French sailors.

  • Sporting mens silk ivory, navy-trimmed pajamas.

As if I didn't want to go on a Chanel shopping spree badly enough???

I'm at least going to try to add some menswear pieces into my wardrobe.
