Postcards From Paradise & My Wednesday Wish

Just another day in paradise....

The private Fairmont beach is just spectacular!

We loved the rock formations off of the beach. We often swam out to it and it was a great place to scope out some pretty cool fish.

Not a bad way to spend the 4th!

The property is sprawling so the Fairmont offers free trolley service to the private beach and some of the restaurants not attached to the main hotel

Day!

I just love that magical time of the day when the sun begins to set and everyone leaves the beach. Now that's paradise!

Back to the room for another day of sunset scoping

Au revoir Bermuda! I most definitely will be back :)

Happy Wednesday, lovelies. Can't believe it's been a week since I've been back from vacation already. My mind is still there...walking along the smooth pinkish tinged sand, frolicking around in the crystal clear turquoise water, and watching the gorgeous sunsets, one of my only "tasks" of the day, just feeling completely and utterly chillaxed. Can you really blame me?

We stayed at the Fairmont Southampton, a wonderful resort set atop a hillside that looks upon the gorgeous aquamarine sea. The views were really spectacular. The landscape is beautiful, set between the South Shore beaches and the Great Harbor, with a pristine golf course in between. There's a luxury spa, The Willow Stream, to take care of all of your pampering needs and the dining choices at the hotel and in the area are outstanding. We ate at the majority of the resort restaurants. They were all amazing but our favorite was the Waterlot Inn, one of the best steakhouses I've ever dined at.

It was a truly amazing vacation. It's so close to NYC, the flight is only an hour and 1/2! I knew it was a short trip but not THAT short. The beaches are breathtaking and the dining was outstanding. It's like a little piece of paradise in my backyard and I'll definitely be going back the next chance I get.

So in honor of my Wednesday Wishes series, today I am really wishing I was back there right now :)

Hope you're all having a lovely week! Do you have any wishes this Wednesday?

I'm Baaack

And a little slowmo this morning. No big surprise...I always find it hard to get back into the swing of things no matter how amazing and restful my vacations are.

I had an absolutely wonderful trip and can't wait to fill you in on it all. And I'm really excited to stop by and check out what you've all been up to. Hope you're all having a wonderful week and I'll be by soon to say hi :)

Wednesday Wishes - One More Day....

Well I guess all good things must come to an end. Today's the day I pack up and return home. I've had the time of my life and I just can't help but wish for one more day. Actually I'm being really greedy and would like 4 more days. I mean I only have to work Thursday and half a day Friday so why not just call it a day and stay down here through the weekend, right? :)

Hope you're all having a fabulous week and I'll be seeing you all again real soon! xoxo

Punchy Paradise

For the most part I'm a pretty neutral person when it comes to my wardrobe. Well black mostly, I do live in NYC so it's kind of a given, but with a decent amount of camel, white and some champagne and gold scattered in there.

But when I think of summer and tropical locations my mind instantly goes to bright, bold, punchy colors. When packing I tend to leave my black behind and reach for any bit of color that screams to me from my closet...green, pink, yellow & blue. All the colors come together in one rainbow colored pile on my bed. It's so funny but when I look down at that pile, I suddenly feel like a different person. Not the too busy to get everything accomplished in life girl that I usually feel like. The other me, the carefree vacation me. And I feel happy and lighter and instantly ready to roll. All the better for some fun in the sun :)

How about you guys? Do you go punchy for vacation or do you keep it clean, crisp, white and neutral?

Sunset Scoping

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and for those of you who are enjoying the extra day off today, hope you're having a wonderful time!

Well here I am on vacation so I thought it would be appropriate to share with you one of my favorite vacation pastimes. Sunset watching! Usually that's one of the only things I have on my to-do list. Well that and a cocktail and a dip in the ocean :)

Throughout the day I watch the sky and wonder what type of a sunset it will be. Pink, orange, red? Are there clouds in the sky and if so how high are they? Will the sun sink into the sea or some low laying clouds? The whole things fascinates me. I get very snap happy around that time of day and I end up taking a ton of photos of them. Seriously it can get a little out of hand...like we're talking hundreds of photos for one sunset. Can you say manic? The funny thing though is although it may seem manic, it's really the most peaceful time of the day. And that's what being on vacation is all about, isn't it?

Hopefully I'm getting some good ones now here in Bermuda that I'll be able to share with you when I get back.

So I'm curious about you all. Are you sunset watchers like me? I kinda think I'm not in the minority here :)
