Monday Madness

Happy Monday lovelies! Sorry for posting late today. I've had a hellish morning. It's seems as if the wedding anxiety is really getting to me so I had to go to my cardiologist this morning to address the palpitations I've been having non stop for 6 days. No worries, I'll be fine, I think it's just stress. After we left the doc I found out that J asked the doc for an Rx for xanax for me but he said that he doesn't write those. Oh well, at least she tried ;)

So now it's less than 6 weeks till the wedding. We're really coming down to the final stretch. Our diet & fitness routine is in full force. But unfortunately (or maybe it's really a blessing) our scale broke this weekend. And we're currently debating whether or not to replace it. I mean do you really need to know the number? It's kinda liberating not to have one. I know there have been times in my life that I really get obsessed by the number on the scale & I obsess over it which tends to lead to rather unhealthy habits. Isn't it better to judge how well you're doing by how you look and feel? What's a number really? Muscle weighs more than fat and your weight fluctuates depending on the time of day and month. But I do have to say, I think I'd be more likely to get a new one if this is what it read when I stepped on it :)

So who here is a scale person? What do you guys think I should do? Yay or nay for a new scale?

Cute image! Sorry to hear you're having heart palpitations! You must relax (I know, easier said than done)!

I say nay to scale. I tend to obsess over a number when I really shouldn't.

OMG! Calm down homegirl, we need you healthy and happy, not tight like a stressball!

I say yay, on the scale, its not a popular opinion but in my experience when I dont have a scale I gain weight (and i have all kinds of weight ish, in fact i just lost 63 ponds in the last year and half and couldnt be happier!). BUT you must remember the scale is not there to judge you or make you feel bad, it is just to let you know how your doing .. its just like checking in so that you can adjust your behavior accordingly.

Hope that helps :)

I like a scale to keep an eye on myself. But I don't obsess. I get on it once a week: Saturday mornings. (Or if I don't like the Saturday number, sometimes I hope on it on Sunday just to see if Saturday was right.)

Have you tried deep-breathing relaxation to calm yourself? If you haven't, post a message on my blog or email me and I'll tell you what I do. (I have panic attacks, so I know all about deep breating to calm down.)

Totally nay on the scale. Only because if you're exercising and eating right, you will feel happy about how you feel and look. Also measurements seem to be a better indicator if you're really looking for something concrete!

no way would i have a scale! that reminds me of a funny story though. i had a friend in high school whos mother used to put a scale in the pantry to save money on food! might keep me from snacking so much, so maybe it is a good idea, ha.

Holy moley Bridecheka - you lost 63 pounds? Congrats.

That being said, I haven't stepped on a scale outside of the doctor's office in ten years or so. It's all about how you look and feel.

off the sale...you know how good you are doing...if you feel great , a scale can only be a downer if the number is what you are expecting...

I always go by my fav pair of jeans...

:)
Congrats!
