I Wanna Be A Part of It!

I can't believe it's come to the time of the planning process where we have to think of the Out of Towner gift bags. I remember months ago thinking how I have all the time in the world to think about that. I don't have to worry about that until right before the wedding. Well guess what? It's right before the wedding! 1 month from today, in fact! Wow, the panic is starting to set in!

We really want to offer our guests a real taste of NYC so we're goin all out with a Manhattan theme. Here's a little sampling of ideas we've been kicking around.
  • NYC Taxi Treats cookies
  • Black & White cookies
  • Apples (the Big Apple - get it?)
  • Bottled water
  • Chocolate - mini NYC wrapped Hershey chocolate bars & kisses
  • NYC Magnet
  • NYC Postcard
  • Deck of NYC playing cards
  • Potato chips, pretzels & peanuts
  • Mini bottle of Bailey's
  • Travel size pack of aspirin
  • Mints/gum
  • Travel tissue pack
  • Tourist info - maps/pamphlets/etc.
  • Personal note to thank out of towners for their time and effort in making it to our special day
And we'll package it all up in a NY gift bag.

I'm not sure if I'm forgetting anything. I want to make sure that our guests are comfortable, well fed & entertained with a NY flair.

Are you guys doing welcome bags? Do you think we're missing anything?

These are all GREAT items to include. I'm doing similar local things (Moon Pies) but might add your aspirin/tissue idea to my own list!
I'm also including a copy of Nashville's weekly Indie news rag called The Scene. I know NYC has one, but can't recall the name now.
I have heard that OOT bags should NOT be left to the last minute - that they are more time consuming than most people think. We'll see!

Oooh, my Brooklyn hipster friend got one of these when she moved to NY and LOVED IT!

It might be a little pricey to get one for each of your guests...but maybe not?
