I'm so sad the Winter Olympics are over. It's one of my favorite events...17 days of elite athletic competition right when the winter blues are getting ready to kick into full force.
I much prefer the Winter games to the Summer ones. I love winter sports, even though I never actually take part in them myself, I find them so exciting plus winter is such a romantic time of year. I love the idea of curling up on a couch with a cup of cocoa to watch some good sports and I love getting to learn more about different cultures.
I love them so much, in fact, that I actually teared up at the closing ceremony last night. It's not unusual...I've been doing that every 4 years since I was a child. I guess I get overwhelmed with the emotions of it all. The world coming together after competition to celebrate, the sadness that the games are over and the anticipation of the next olympics.
Anyway, did any of you happen to see the closing ceremonies last night? Natalia Vodianova, the Ambassador of the Sochi 2014 games, was dressed as a fairy. She's so gorgeous and eloquent and it got me so excited to fast forward 4 years to the XXII Olympic Games. Bring them on!

It is sad when it's all over....but as you said...four years time!

Natalia looked great! I like the winter Olympics better, too. Yesterday was the best ending I could have hoped for (not surprising!) It was a great game.
Now I'm looking forward to the World Cup.
So sad it's over and I'm feeling a little guilty because I didn't watch as much as I should :(
I am so not a watch sport on tv person - but I love the winter olympics. Haven't seen the closing ceremony - loved the opening one.
i'm also bummed that the games are over. i'm more of a summer games person, but this year i took it all in and started to love a lot of the sports (curling, ski jump, crosscountry skiing). the athletes' stories are also the best :)
