What Goes Around

Totally comes around. This is my hair circa 1986. No joke. I remember I was so scared to let my parents see. I kept it covered whenever I was around them but the second the coast was clear I flipped it right over.

What was the most daring thing you ever did to your hair?

Oh you rebel! That's so funny. Have you ever 'confessed'?

Ha, how funny Dawn! I have not been that experimental with my hair, but have had it red, blonde and varying lengths of cropped + short. Playing with different hairstyles is so fun!

LOL. you wouldn't believe how boring I have been with my hair! But yes, I pierced my belly button and was so scared of my mother finding out.

Short bangs. For my hair they should never be attempted.

Haha, we were so alike as teens! At 13-14 (circa 1988) I cut it all short, shaved it on the sides a little bit like on the pictures, but then left a very long, thin strand on the left side, which I would make into braids...
I thought it was the coolest thing, but really it was awfully ugly!

You're not seeing me with hair like these girls anytime soon! :-)

Hahaah i have such a hard time picturing you!!! Though you must've been the coolest kid on the block ;)

As for me, i've actually had hair every single color of the rainbow! So this spring trend with the washed out neon hair? Brings me right back to 1997 in the prime of my angst lol

ps don't get used to those boots, summer is a comin'!!!

xoxoxo

The things we do with our hair... I would love to see this, maybe you can share a picture? I also went through all kinds of blonde, black and in the end pink which did not go so well with pale teenager skin. But did I care? No way!!

@Café Bellini - yes I think I eventually got around to confessing many years later. I remember when I first did it I was on vacation with my parents and was so paranoid being outside and the wind blowing! When I first shaved it, I shaved the patch completely bald so I thought it was so obvious but they never saw. Unbelievable and I thought that parents were so intuative! LOL

@hélène - hahaha yeah I was really alternative and artsy. Totally went against the mainstream. And you're right about the boots, I need to ditch them already! :)

@SabinePsynopsis & @Tangerine Fairy - will have to see if I can dig up a photo. This should be fun!!!

@natwhat - ur so cool and young and make me feel waaay old. do u think i'm cool or ancient since I did it so long ago? lol xoxo

It is a brave look!
Once I cut my hair really but really short and I looked like a boy :) I will never do it again :)
Great photos :)
Ps: I am so happy you loved the apartment post!

I went through a phase where my hair was pretty much every color of the rainbow. Which is funny because I worked at The Gap at the time. I was scared they were going to fire me for not being "preppy". My manager, though, just found it funny that every time I worked my hair was a different color.

I put the whole thing in braids... tiny little braids??? what was I thinking? anyways I had split ends and broken ends at my roots for years!!!! I like yours better... that would have been awesome!

You had one of the coolest hair. I can totally imagine that sight.

I think i have boring hair, for the longest time. Maybe its time for change.

Am not often bored with my hair. I love the texture and feel of it. I see you were quite the rebel in your ealier years;-)
I love wearing wigs by that I mean high quality well made wigs. They are good for a change.
I do not colour my hair in general but a wig is good for my look sometimes;-)

HA I love it! SO not a risk taker when it comes to hair. I chopped off 11" twice and donated it to charity. that's not too crazy tho.
Oh and I did sun-in once. It turned kinda orange. Ick.

Whoa, this look took balls! The best I ever did was a headful of tiny little braids. I probably put beads in it. Lame.

Marcie said...

Wow, I am impressed. My hair sucks. It is thin, so I haven't done much to it. But once someone accidentally died it black instead of light brown. I looked like a witch!

No way, totally edgy. I've always been wussy about hair but kinda wish I did something like this now!
