I'm {Fall}ing For You

Happy Thursday, lovelies! So happy that Friday's only a day away. Turns out this week hasn't been so horrible after all. The weather's been great and it looks like it's going to be a gorgeous fall weekend here in NY.

Speaking of Fall, I can't believe it's already 9 days into September and I haven't purchased a single piece of fall clothing. Normally this would be unheard of. I start shopping early August and I'm usually itching for some chilly weather so I can break out a new pair of boots or some cozy sweater or a chic new jacket. But nope, not this year. I've got nothin! I'm not sure why I've delayed so much this year. Maybe I enjoyed the summer too much and I didn't really want to think ahead to fall. That must be it. Too much fun in the sun :)

Well I think the time has finally come to shop. I know myself too well and there's no way that I will even attempt to pull my fall clothes out of storage until probably mid November. So in the meantime I'll need something to hold me over until the time comes. What better excuse to shop, right? And the new Zara and ASOS collections have both caught my eye so I think I know my first destinations.

Have any of you indulged for fall yet?

It's hard to say good-bye to summer, but autumn/winter fashion always excites me. Love the capes (much better than ponchos in my eyes) and the cosy knit dresses. xo

I love love love the autumn fashions! It's my favourite time of year, all the greens and browns and oranges. I made the mistake of heading into Topshop yesterday and could have spent a fortune!
I made my first autumn purchases at the weekend, including a mustard yellow, 1940s-esque cardigan. Love it! I'm going to post about my purchases later!! A brilliant post as always xx

Have a good shopping trip! Haha at the moment I have NO idea where anything is. Just when I thought our place couldn't get any messier..... yeah, it's a complete disaster zone!

I haven't bought a thing yet either, Dawn. It's been too hot here. I had to get the kids all set for back to school and had to focus on shopping with them. Now it's my turn!! xo

I haven't. This time of year I'm mostly layering anyway. I do love a good chunky knit, though.

I haven't :-( Since I'm seven months pregnant and stopping working in 6 weeks, it doesn't make much sense to get a new fall wardrobe this year. I'll make do with the pants, jeans and skirts I already have, and will only buy a couple of tops to go with them -ooh, maybe I'll go today on my lunch break! :-)

Yesterday I wrote a freelance article about the top 10 fashion trends this fall, and it's funny looking at your pictures this morning I'm mentally going: check, check, yes, yes... (Structured military jacket, camel as the "it" neutral, fur accents, cape, utilitarian boots, cosy knits...) Since you're my ultimate fashionista, seeing this reassures me that I got it right :-)

I haven't shopped yet either. That's probably because the weather is still nice and warm. However, i'd love to get all these looks that you featured today. Love 'em! Happy Thursday to you! xx

You have selected some wonderful things here!! The top picture and the one with the tartan cape would have to be my faves. Like you I have not really gotten going with too much for fall. However, while I was in Canada I took trip into Holt Renfrew and got a super cute cheetah print v-neck hoodie and a darling fur vest. There was so much in there I wanted it was painful!! It was the first time I felt like any fall shopping - probably because it was the first time the weather really made me feel fall-like. Oh Canada :(

Back to reality now. Ugh.

Thanks for checking in while I was away. I would glance over comments but then my niece would drag me away. haha

So you're a hockey fan?? I liiiiiike this!!

xoxo,
Carrie

Oooh, I love all these pictures. I'm trying to be very selective with my Fall choices this year as to not overspend (we'll see how that goes, haha). So far I've only bought a few scarves, a hat, some leggings, and a trench coat. I'm so happy it's almost Friday!

Zara and Asos are serious problems for me... well not so much for me, but for my bank account. it seems we have a discrepancy on how much money I need for a fashion update and how much money is available to me.... If only my money would just breed.. haha

I found that I have been feeling quite the opposite! I have been on a shopping craze for Fall. I don't know what's going on? Seriously. But, these outfits are just lovely -- I hope you pick up a few of these pieces :)
