Hi there! It's Shari from Little Blue Deer here, I'm filling in for the lovely Dawn this week as she takes care of funeral arrangements for her dear friend Derek. Are you keeping up with your New Year's resolutions? Mine was to keep it glam, all day, every day, nails did, hair did, everything did, and maybe lose 5 pounds! But just like this image, I have already failed, miserably! That's okay, though, we need to treasure and enjoy every moment, because life is indeed short.

I didn't make any resolutions...but my first day back at work has nice hair and a cute dress - so I feel like I am starting out right! HA!

Hmph! I made a resolution that the next piece I'd add to my wardrobe is a DVF wrap dress (or two). But then I made the silly error of posting about a sexy blazer, and the enabling is threatening to break my resolve.
How long will I last? Three days. Four days. Hopefully the blazer will just sell out, saving me from myself!
I love the idea of being glam for a day! I will aspire to that someday soon--just not right now. Don't look at me! My nails are such a mess. xo

I couldn't agree with you more. Trying to find a balance between being serious about your goals and also allowing yourself to be human is a difficult line to walk, but I say set goals trying your best to make them come true but in the mean time, make sure and always have your nails painted and your hair done. It'll make you feel better about yourself regardless if the goals get accomplished or not. Ha! Thanks for sharing!

Hello Shari! I'm LOVING your New Year's resolution...I do believe that is brilliant, to be glam every day! But like you said, it's ok to be human too. :) Living in Italy always does it for me, it gives me the motivation I need to give every day my all, and I hope to apply that from now on. Those photos are gorgeous especially the first one! Happy New Year!

I read the post about Dawn's friend last night and heart goes out to her and all of Derek's friends and family.
Beautiful guest post. So far I'm sticking to my resolutions rather well and I hope that someone keeps checking with me periodically to make sure I do. I need to get my life in order big time this year.
Beautiful photos. I didn't make any resolutions, I never do. Just don't believe in things like that. If change is about to happen, it has to be of you willing to do so not because you promised someone.
