Summer Pace

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Good morning, loves! Hope you're all having a wonderful start to the week!

My start has been a little less than stellar. Having a beach house is amazing and I have absolutely no complaints and I know how extremely fortunate I am. It just means that I have to readjust my schedule so I can balance my city life with my island life.

Being that this was the first weekend back at the house, I wasn't on my A game in terms of having my city life under control.  My inbox is flooded {I have limited service on the island so I'm rather disconnected when I'm there}, there's no food in the house, and there's laundry and cleaning that desperately needs to take place sooner rather than later.  It'll all work out in the end and I'll soon have a schedule in place to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future.  Bottom line is that life can't be all fun and no work. :)

Have a wonderful day, sweets and please bear with me while I catch up.  I'll be around soon to say hi!

xoxo

It is getting used to an adjusted schedule (which results in amazing beach time) that takes some time and energy...all for the better! hope it works out soon! xoxo

Opening a beach house is a lot of work before the relaxation can be done. Limited service can be a good thing... it keeps you in vacation mode and you can't get caught up in work drama! xoxo

Amen to that! It's so worth the weekend at the beach but stepping back into reality is always the hard part for me.

Ughh, I can feel you lady! The worst is all the catching up after getting home! Or is it the best? ;)

Why can't life be just one big giant vacation... ? Isn't that the truth. Boo to real life duties and the worst of all is attacking the flooded inbox. I hope that you've managed to settle in ok... I make todo lists and then check stuff off. Sounds lame, but when I can put a check by a completed task it makes me eager to accomplish the next. That's really lame! :) I loved following your instagram pic's from this weekend.... looked like the perfect, sunny time! xo

Hope you find your rhythm sooner rather than later.

I think we need those crazy days to appreciate the down time. We had a 28 foot (sleep aboard) boat and sadly sold it a couple years ago. It was a great escape vessel from reality that didn't require a long plane flight.

The one thing about house chores and laundry is that it will always be there when you get back. Memories with you friends and family won't.

I leave for the beach next Tuesday, and have been so busy getting beach stuff ready, blog stuff ready, and just life ready! But then I'll relax!

Have to say it's a bit of work to keep the two houses going...we found that when we were skiing, always exhausted on Monday morning. All worth it though, every weekend was a total break. Here comes the sun!

That would be hard to have to adjust back to two places - but I am sure you will get it sorted out soon! I am not sure why but I have been so tired this week and it is only Tuesday! I must already be on a summer pace!
Much love,
B

I have a friend who tries to balance two houses AND she has a young daughter. I cannot even imagine all of the planning that goes into it. Of course it's nice, but there are also drawbacks in some ways! Good luck!

Awww, well, these things just happen on this earth of ours, where happiness has to be balanced with getting it all organized ;) Tough job sometimes, i often wish i had a magic wand! xx

Balance is so hard to achieve. Take your time, get organized and you'll be enjoying your beach house (and getting work done) in no time!!!

Good luck catching up! It is hard to go from weekend life to real life without a plan.... but I am sure you will get ahold of it!

Totally feel you on that. Really difficult when you're trying to manage two households-- one is often responsibility enough! But I think it's great that you're seeing this and deciding to get more balanced right now, from the get-go, so that things don't really spin out of control. Adjust, adjust!

Isn't crazy how life goes out of control as soon as you leave the computer for 2 days... it's still impoortant sometimes, I'm sure you'll catch up! xoxo

Since it's the first time back to your beach house, I can only imagine the work that needs to go into putting everything into place again and lack of connection does not help either! Not long til the weekend now Dawn.

I'm also playing catch up - inbox also outta control.

I absolutely know how you feel doll. I recently took a short holiday, but coming back was more than a notion. Plus, my bf and I both travel much for work so it takes time for us to adjust back to reality. I love these images.

Wishing you a peaceful and productive rest of the week. -xo

Enjoy the summer, take your time catching up darlin. I understand how it is. It's hard to ease back into summer time. It takes a while for the city to catch on its time to slow down... :)
