Hello, loves! And happy Thursday to you all! The weekend is almost here and I'm pretty darn excited about it. We'll be heading on over to Fire Island for a few days to open the beach house for the summer season. I'm sure it'll be a lot of work to get the house in shape but it will still be nice to get back to the island and see what we have to look forward to in the coming months.
In the meantime I'm dreaming about a little escape. It seems like everyone I know {well, ok only 3 people but that seems like a bunch...} is headed out on vacation this week. And if you've been around here before, you know that I love vacation pretty much more than anything. There's nothing like the feeling of being away, is there? Time doesn't matter. Money doesn't matter. Actually nothing really seems to matter other than being right there in the moment. Sometimes I wish that I could bottle that feeling and keep it with me forever.

Lovely images Dawn. OK, where would I like to be? Well I live in the Med where it is 35ºC today, so that's pretty great in itself. But other than where I am? It would have to be Maui where I got married, or a secluded Greek island . Have a lovely break xx

Where would I like to escape to today? Into that clear blue turquoise water would be a good start! It's so cold, dreary and rainy here in England that anywhere with sun, sand and water like that would more than suffice! Enjoy your trip - LOVE you blog. Paula xxx

Wonderful...I'm so happy for you! If I could escape anywhere it would be the south of france. When I go I never want to leave...there is just so much love and sun down there!

I don't have to escape anywhere today. As we haven't bought garden furniture after we moved, my daughters and I simply carried the dining table out to the balcony and we are enjoying a gorgeous weather. I even opened a small bottle of white wine. If only I had sushi ;-)

I so know that feeling you're describing and you're right, it really is quite unlike any other feeling. You are more in the moment than you ever are in your day to day life. I think that's why it's so special. Excited for you to head to your beach house!
That first photo is stunning! I've been dreaming about an escape lately as well. There are some great island deals to be had. Just have to narrow it down :) So exciting that you'll be opening your beach house in a few days!

I would love to go to Fiji. I have such wonderful, relaxing memories and it would be lovely to sit on the beach and read!

I'm so excited for you Dawn that your summer beach house season is starting! I was looking at the YSL spread in Lonny today and thinking how nice it would be to escape to Morocco--funny how those sumptuous colors and exotic pillows can transport you in a milli-second.
