Feminine Feeling

Happy mid-week, loves!  Thankfully we're half way through the work week already.  Well truthfully I only have one more day after today so I guess I'm already past the halfway mark.  Guess that means I have even more reason to be thankful  :)

The summer is starting to wind on down, beach trips will be less frequent after labor day, and I'm starting to think of what the late summer & early fall will bring.  As much as I love summer and the beach I have to admit I'm looking forward to a few things.

One of the things that I'm looking forward to is a more put together appearance.  I'm kind of getting sick of summer dresses and sandals and cannot wait to put on blouses, pencil skirts and pumps.  The more ladylike the better in my book.  I think I have the Mad Men marathon I indulged in this summer to blame.  I watched the first 5 seasons in less than a month and my casual approach to dressing these days just isn't cutting it.

I'm also really looking forward to finally taking on the living room redesign.  As I've mentioned before, truthfully it's probably been years now that I've been saying this, I'm craving a softer, lighter, more glamorous & feminine home and it's just about time to finally satisfy that craving.

What are you all looking forward to in the coming weeks?

Enjoy the day, sweets!

I think it's wonderful when we have very distinct change of seasons. By the time Fall rolls around, we are ready for it! Love those pencil skirts, blouse/blazer, and pumps too! I also look forward to fall leaves and pumpkins :)

I am JUST starting to enjoy my summer dresses. In fact, I want to buy more of them, haha! But that's totally the California girl in me.

i do feel you on the slightly looking more put together front.. somehow it's just easier to do with that layers and without the heat factor. Ladylike was the perfect word to describe that transition. Although I will desperately miss the sunshine!!

I really feel summers end just around the corner!

My mom is coming in to town this weekend and we are going to attack some of the projects in my apartment that I haven't had the energy for--- from hanging artwork to developing some ideas for the nursery.

I am hoping for a wildly productive weekend... fingers crossed we will get lots finished!

I couldn't agree with you more. The sad fact is that sundresses and sandals is all-year attire here in San Diego. I'm getting pretty tired of it to be honest! I dream of NYC and actually having a reason to wear pencil skirts and pumps :)

Loving these dusty pink images Dawn! I think having a glam feminine place to come home to sounds wonderful! I guess it's finally time to start a bit of fall shopping--that and planning another trip to NYC are in my near future. Hope you're having a great week so far!

I so agree about switching up my appearance for the fall. I love transitioning to structure for a while after flowy dresses and flip flops.

I am so tired of my summer clothes and am ready to start fresh with my fall wardrobe. And I think I need to add that blush PS 1 clutch to the wardrobe immediately. That's so exciting that you are thinking of redoing your living room. That last picture is the perfect inspiration if you want light and glam! oxo

The living room redesign project sounds so exciting! And I hear you on looking more put together as the weather cools down. As much as I enjoy summer I'm also looking forward to the fall. Aside from the spring it has to be the prettiest season in New York City :)

The theme of my recent posts have been about weather and mood, too...

I have the oposite problem myself, here in the Southern Cone, I'm craving spring! for the sames reasons as you: I'm getting sick of winter layers, coats and boots and cannot wait to put on blouses, pencil skirts and pumps!!!

Big hugs!
