Catch Me If You Can!

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about bouquet tossings. It's kinda funny since we're two girls. And we both would have bouqets to toss. And what would we do? Have both girls & guys up to catch them? I mean we'll have a bunch of single guys and girls at the wedding and I wouldn't want to leave any one sex out. Kinda a funny thought, right? Although I have to admit it would make for a GREAT photo op.

But then, on the other hand, since the bouquet toss is all about "who will be the next one to marry?" business I think about our thoughts on marriage and we're really not the kinda people to force the idea marriage on people. Or even the idea of coupledum, for that matter. Like you have to be married or at least coupled up to be a worthwhile person??? And we're not really very traditional, after all, so I don't really feel the need to do all the typical thing that happens at every other wedding.

So what do you guys think about this one? Yay or nay for tossing the bouquets?

I'm not doing one. I (and quite a few friends) always felt awkward for being forced to stand up there. Seriously, I went to a few weddings where no one grabbed and it fell on the floor!

Totally up to you and what you think your friends would like.

You also get to keep your flowers if you don't throw it. :)

I will probably do the bouquet toss...but every wedding I have ever been to I never went up and tried to catch the bouquet. I think its kind of silly for girls to push and and shove each other in high heels just to catch some flowers. Not very lady like. I guess I'm doing it because its tradition and sort of expected...and I'll admit kinda funny.

I dunno, I am just as torn as you. I always thought it was fun but I know plenty of people who hate being up there and dread catching it. Hopefully I will start to feel more strongly one way or the other at some point soon.

um. YAY. i want a chance to catch your bouquet!!!!! ;)

i say do it twice for a big group of all the single people (men and women) and then whether it's two guys, two girls or one of each to catch - pics with both and on we go :)

If you're both into the idea, then why not?! But maybe make it less of a 'next person to get married' thing and directed at single peope. You could invite everyone to participate.

Love the photo but not so down with the toss. I kind of like the idea of giving the bouquet(s) to the couple in the room who have had the longest relationship.

It's such a personal thing - I could go either way. Though I think if you do it, you should definitely do two :)

I say do what you want. I tossed my bouquet. (Well, not really. I wanted to keep my bouquet, so I tossed a similar bouquet!) And (referring to the more recent post), I had a garter and we did a garter toss. For both, we just called up the singe ladies, then the single men.

If you do it quickly, whoever wants to be there will run up. That way, people who'd rather not go up don't have to! My aunt didn't go up there, and she's single. Neither did my uncle's girl-friend, even thought (technically) she's single.

You could always call up all the single men & women. Make the call and proceed quickly, so there's less time for single people who don't want to go up to be pressured.

Then toss both bouquets at the same time! How great would that picture be!

i'm torn about it too. it makes for a great photo op but, since most of my best girl friends are single, i know they hate being "singled" out for the toss. that said, others really look forward to it! clearly, i haven't made a decision yet!

i think having you girls toss both bouquets into a sea of single men and women would be so fun!

I know I'm late commenting on this, but I wanted to say, however late, that you should both toss a bouquet if that's what you desire! I agree that a toss together would be so fun!

Personally, I'm not tossing mine (all my friends are married), and my fiance isn't throwing a garter (mostly because I don't want him going up my dress in front of 80 of my friends and family. =)
