Our RSVP date was Monday and we still haven't heard from about 50 people. Everyone is telling us that we need to wait till the end of the week to start contacting people. That's all well and good and all but the truth of the matter is, we're super antsy and we just can't control ourselves. I wrote a few emails today. And J is getting on her mother to contact her family. Is that bad? I just don't understand why we have to wait so long. There was a deadline and people are late so what's the big deal with asking, right?
I have to admit that we haven't always been prompt with our responses to events in the past. Boy though, has this taught us a lesson! No more late responses from us!
So what do you guys think? Do we really need to wait? I don't want to be rude, I just need to know!

50 guests would make a huge difference in my budget. I would say that if your up against deadlines for other things (caterer, calligrapher) as you said they should understand that you are in the thrawls of planning a wedding and you need the courtesy of a simple yes or no :)
Nag the lazy bastages.
oh i couldn't wait. i would try to be patient, but between vendors and budgets, i know i'd call sooner rather than later. hope that you receive responses soon!
Hmm .. it depends on the postal system. In Canada, you can get a mail from most places within the country within 3 days. So we waited about 3 days after our RSVP deadline before emailing people. Is the US Postal Service that quick? If so, I think you're fine! Because the RSVP deadline means the card must have been in the mail by Monday, not that it got to you by Monday.
But I think you're probably okay to start calling / emailing now. :)
I wouldn't wait, ask! 50 makes a huge difference so the sooner you know the better.
Thank you SOMEONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AS ME!! we have about 60 or so we havent heard from and im about to turn into bridezilla. (we also need exact counts for the caterer, bar, seating charts, etc.) What to do? what to do?
get started and keep going.
Dude, call them. They probably think they've already responded (I do it all the time... my bad!)
