Happy Holidaze!

Hope you all had a wonderful fun-filled, productive weekend. Hectic as mine was, I did manage to check a bunch of things off the list. We bought some gifts and did some visiting and gift exchanging with some of our friends and family. There's still a lot more to do though. Holiday parties, cookie baking, shopping, wrapping, and the most daunting task on the list - cleaning out our mess of an apartment so we can buy & put up a tree and decorate the place.

This year we're hosting J's family on xmas eve for the very first time. 11 people in our lil apartment. Isn't that cozy? The first part of the day is the annual cookie decorating extravaganza and then we're going to serve dinner. It shouldn't be such a big deal but I have absolutely no idea what to prepare for dinner! It's the first time we've ever hosted xmas eve. Thanksgiving we're ol pros at...we've hosted it at least 7 or 8 times before. But xmas eve??? I'm at a total loss. I have to put my hostess hat on and get creative.

What are your plans for the holidays? Are there any hosters out there? Do you have everything under control or are you all frazzled like moi?

My house is ready, but basically I haven't done any shopping. It's like I just woke up. Hello, why can't I think about this in advance instead of being pressured to buy *anything* at the last minute?

I hosted last year, so this year I'm not. We're going to spend a few days in Quebec City and in my hometown further north, and all I have to bring is cupcakes! Yay! Then it's NYC for NYE, baby!

Good luck with all your prep!
