Happy Wednesday, lovelies! Hope you're all having a wonderful week. The weather is picture perfect here and it's already the middle of my 3 day work week so you can say that I'm having a fabulous week.

I know in the past I've talked about the drawbacks to being in the city in the summer. The heat, humidity and occasional smells can really make you want to run for the hills. But this past weekend I spent the majority of my time in the city and it made me realize and remember just how amazing it can be this time of year.

Spectacular rooftop views, walks in the parks and along the rivers, the backyard restaurant gardens, it's all a feast for the senses. Also, the city basically empties out on weekends, especially holiday ones, so it's as if you have the city to yourself. It's a real treat.

Don't get me wrong, I'm really looking forward to heading back to the beach house this weekend but it was nice to rediscover the beauty of the city in summertime.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
xoxo

I love summers in the city too and in the country, I prefer to be where I can enjoy them both. These pictures are perfect examples of the great life of the city, I like the sounds and sights, but the country is relaxing and quiet I hope your enjoying your week so far!! xxx

These images are so wonderful! That's the best part about cities at weekends; everyone else has left! I've experienced sitting in an almost empty café on a Sunday and I love it.

But the beach is so tempting...

Beautiful images as usual!

Wandering the deserted streets on a summer Sunday is such a treat! I love traveling and weekends out of the city, especially in summertime, but I also love discovering new things to do when I have to stay in town and these images are perfect to illustrate such a day. Hope you're having a wonderful week, Dawn! :)

Hi Dawn, happy midweek. Summer in the city looks so inviting. Even though I am a fan of alfresco dining, every bug and bee lands right on me. I swear I attract them somehow. I adore the yellow setting. I am filling in for someone at work today. I am loving my new job which makes me a happier person. Working with Seniors! I am getting paid to have fun, today is Bingo at 10am!!! They are so special and sweet. Enjoy your day darling Dawn. xo

That first photo looks like it could be you, with the long brown hair. Last time we went to NYC it was so humid and mid 90's. I would like to visit in Autumn. I bet Central Park is pretty that time of year. xo

Three day weeks are awesome! I spent the best part of last and this week roaming around in Boston and Cambridge and it was amazing! Long walks along Charles river, view from the top of the condo that we stayed in, walks downtown, pizza binges and walks back (two birds with one stone! ha!). I am totally going to miss living here. We are sadly moving out of this part of the world in a month or two. :(

I hear you, I had such a great weekend in NYC and it felt so empty of people - it was just great! I love those pictures, nothing like a green garden roof top!

I typically love the city on the weekends, exploring new restaurants, eating outdoors with the pup, enjoying the National Park that runs through it. However, for the 4th (and most holiday weekends), we run for the hills because unfortunately DC, fills up with sweaty masses of tourists. So jealous of your 3 day week Dawn! Enjoy your long weekend!

I miss living in the city. I live right near the beach so I shouldn't complain, but it's nice to change it up!

Such lovely images, the one that caught my eye is the alfresco dining one, love those warm sunny evenings.

It's so ridiculously hot here in Athens that it's kinda stifling! Need cool air!

I would love to be in the city sitting on a rooftop this time of year - it would be beautiful. Fun that you get to enjoy the city and the beach this summer by splitting the time at both! Hope you are having a good week!
Much love,
B

everytime it's summer in the city i think of the song "hot child in the city." :) sure it's humid - pony tails are fab, and like today, we had a torrential downpour downtown which made me have to duck into a boutique to take refuge, not bad place to be stuck. :)

al fresco dining next week? lets take advantage of this gorg weather!
