Picking Season

Photobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Good morning, lovelies! Hope your week is of to a great start.

I'm loving the cool crisp days that we've been having. The chill in the air is making me excited to take part in some of my favorite fall activities. Every September I like to kick the season off by going apple picking. I'm hoping to squeeze that in this coming weekend.

Then a few weeks later in October I usually take a foliage drive upstate and during the drive we stop by a pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins. Unfortunately I just heard that a lot of the pumpkin patches were destroyed by Hurricane Irene last month and they're expecting an extreme pumpkin shortage this year. Not sure if I'll have any luck but I'm still hoping and staying positive. If not I'll just have to bake from a can. There could be worse things in life, right? :)

Do any of you partake in the picking season?

Love this post Dawn. Can't wait to get some pumpkins. Trying not to get them too early so they don't rot. I heard that too but the farm stand down the street didn't seem to have any shortage! xo

Love reading about some of the lovely autumn activites that take place in the States. Wish we had some of them in Europe as I am a HUGE pumpkin fan (but never seen pumpkin in a can!).
Gorgeous images as always Dawn xx

Love these images! It's funny how you've posted this and it just so happens this time of year my Greek Godfather starts making wine, there's also an abundance of apples, grapes, pears too. I had a lovely mega hamper of fresh goodies from the villages of north Greece today! It made my day for sure!

Also, in November is when olives get harvested and pressed! Boy am I lucky!

p.s watched Something Borrowed over the weekend - such a sweet flick, makes me think of beaches now!

See now this is one major part of Fall that we miss out on in So Cal! I remember when I lived in NYC autumn takes on such a different feeling. I definitely wanted to get cozy by the fireplace and cook comfort food. Love these photos, they remind me of that time!

Well the drive should be fun anyway--I love all those little apple stands and hot cider and fresh donuts--I used to go up a lot when I was in grad school and it's just so beautiful!

How fabulous are these images of Marion Cotillard?!!

There's a site pumpkinpatchesandmore.org...I think that's it...that lists them all by state. I wish I could find one that is dog-friendly. My pup needs his pic taken next to some pumpkins!
Ps I have never looked this cute jumping. Even in an apple orchard.

I need to do that one of these days...seems like such a fall activity.

Hi! I realize this is an older post but I found it from Pinterest and thought it was adorable! Where I live we don't really have picking season unfortunately, unless blueberries count...
