Blossoming Beauty

Good morning, lovelies! Hope you're having a lovely week. J has in DC all week so I've been alone for a few days. Keeping myself busy and doing a few little projects that I've put off for a while. It feels good to get some things accomplished.

One of the benefits of having my other in DC means that I've been lucky enough to get bombarded with text photos of the gorgeous cherry blossoms in bloom down there. Unfortunately I've yet to see anything bloom here yet, never mind anything as gorgeous as cherry blossoms, but I'll take what I can get. Photos will just have to do.

Better yet, maybe I should go and pick up Jo Malone's limited edition fragrance for spring 2011, Sakura Cherry Blossom. The interpretation of cherry blossom is brought to life with layers of rose and mimosa accented with the freshness of bergamot and mandarin. The result is a powdery fragrance, contrasted by a base of musk and wood. Sounds lovely, doesn't it? I think I'll know where I'll be heading on my lunch hour today :)

Peachy Keen

Happy mid-week, sweets! How is the week shaping up for you all? It's been a bit gloomy here and it looks like today will be one of the only sunny days of the week. So I'm going to try to capture some of the sunshine with these gorgeous peachy lovelies. I've really been feeling peach lately. Loving it for all things from lips to tips and everything in between. Soft Surroundings

Happy Tuesday, lovelies! Oh how I love this time of year. The days are getting longer and the light gently warms and softens everything in sight making it all look so delicious. We haven't had many days like this quite yet. Only glimpses here and there but just enough to tease me and let me know that brighter days are soon to come.

Sweet Start

Good Monday morning! How was your weekend, lovelies? Mine was wonderful. I had a fabulous, albeit very short trip to Philadelphia. Didn't get to see or do that much outside of the hotel but that was fabulous in itself.

We did walk around Rittenhouse Square and went to drinks at a lovely little French place called Rouge and then to dinner after. Then Sunday was spent at the hockey game which was amazing. We had 3rd row seats and our team won! Go Rangers! :)

Now here we are ready to start the week. Oh why are the weekends so short? I would do so much better with a 4 day work week, wouldn't you? Think I need a little sweetness to get me motivated.

Weekend Getaway

Happy Friday, lovelies! And happy first day of April! I'm so happy that the weekend has finally arrived. J & I are off on a little weekend getaway to Philadelphia. It's been years since I've been so I'm really excited to check it out again. It'll be nice to stroll the city and check out some new shops & restaurants. And we'll also be catching a hockey game on Sunday.

I have to be honest though, I'm most excited about the hotel. Gorgeous decor, luxury linens, breakfast in bed and nightcaps. Really, can anything beat that? All in all it makes for the perfect weekend escape.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Oh and if anyone has any suggestions of places to eat or any shops I should check out while in Philly I'd so appreciate it!

Gloss Gawking

I have to admit something. I'm a beauty stalker. I know, sounds horrible, right? I promise it's all for a good reason though. I'm a beauty product developer and it's kind of part of my job. The more I know about a person's beauty habits the more I'm able to come up with ideas of newer, better, products. All in the name of research :) You know those people who apply their makeup on the commute to work? Well, my eyes are all over that! I just can't look away! I try to be as discrete as possible about it but I know that the poor women probably feel my stare.

Well, I'm happy to say that now I have a new way to satisfy my obsession and perhaps spare a few poor NYers from my morning gawk. Emily Weiss, former Teen Vogue super intern {you may remember her from The Hills} created Into The Gloss, a fresh new take on beauty blogging, and I cannot get enough of it!

Here's Emily's take on what makes her blog stand apart from the other countless beauty blogs out there...

IntoTheGloss.com is a blog dedicated to Beauty, from the Inside. No, not from within, although that’s great too—Inside in this case means Inside the fashion industry and on the street. The best thing about ITG is the access Emily has to all of these "influencers", top editors, models, stylists, etc. They really open up to her and dish all things beauty. In turn, she presents the info in a refreshing, approachable fashion. My favorite category is “The Top Shelf" where fashion isiders such as Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Lauren Santo Domingo, Jen Brill, and Karlie Kloss open up their beauty cabinets, drawers and bags to reveal their skincare, make-up, hair and nail routines. Surprise, surprise, right? A beauty stalkers dream!

At First Bloom

Happy mid-week, lovelies! Although it may say spring on the calendar, it's still colder than cold here in NY. I'm dreaming of warmer temps and gorgeous budding beauties. I desperately need some greenery and color in my life. Unfortunately there's none of that to be had here yet.

Delightful Day

Happy Tuesday, lovelies! How is the week treating you so far? Things are going well here, Healthy living is making me feel great and have a lot of energy. I've been cooped up all winter and I'm really longing to be outdoors more. Only thing is it's still a bit cold so I'm really hoping that spring decides to show up soon.

For now I'll just have to fantasize. Here's a little snapshot of my perfect day. Frolicking around the city, Paris, of course, taking in the beauty of the all of the cherry blossoms in bloom. And of course, since I'm in Paris I'm allowed to indulge a little with some sweet treats. I'll only have a bite but that bite will be oh so good!

Perk Up!

Happy Monday, lovelies! Welcome to a brand new week. Hope you all enjoyed the weekend. My was wonderful, filled with lots of relaxing, some family time and meal planning for the week ahead. I started on this healthy living kick last week and so far I'm loving the results. Only thing is I've been tired so I haven't been able to kick my daily dose of caffeine habit. I start every single morning with a coffee and I don't see myself giving it up anytime soon. Oh well, a little caffeine is good for you, isn't it? :)

Simple Saturday
